The name LEKKI is a throwback to our student days, where we had to run to the local corner shop to ‘top up the leccy’ when our electricity metre had run out mid-shower. If it happened late at night, sometimes we’d just make do with some candles. LEKKI is also the Polish word for ‘lightweight’ which came up when trying to find the word for light. Our LEKKI is anything but.
This candle holder is a design unique to AKVA, inspired by those little pieces of LEGO that would sometimes hold a flower, candle or lightsaber. We have designed the hole to be 25mm wide and 40mm deep to try to accommodate as many different types of candle sticks as possible. We find candles from HAY, Tangerine Collective and ESH candle fit best, but also fit standard sized candles from places like IKEA.
